Hope in Allah

As’Salamu Alaikum Warahamatullahi Wabarakatahu,

I pray to Allah SWT that you are in best of health and have high Imaan.

“O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, You love to forgive so forgive the Muslim men and the Muslim women. Forgive the believing men and the believing women. Forgive the living, forgive the dead. Forgive the first of us, the last of us. Forgive those who are with us and who will come after us.”

The days where your heart is too drenched in worries to focus in prayer, when opening a page of the Quran seems the most difficult thing. When the heart feels burdened and tightened with the worries and grief of this world, breath in and repeat the following 5 times:

Allah is watching me, I am in His care & He is taking care of me

Allah is watching me, I am in His care & He is taking care of me

Allah is watching me, I am in His care & He is taking care of me

Allah is watching me, I am in His care & He is taking care of me

Allah is watching me, I am in His care & He is taking care of me

O you who evaluates matters, do you know the value of yourself? The whole universe was created for your sake. Your Lord, Allah, is moving the whole universe for you. He is putting things in motion just for YOU. He is making the heavens & the earth bring forth the blessings, its provision just for YOU & you are doubting your Lord? He is your Rabb, The Most Loving. Have faith in Him.

“Your Lord is He who drives the ship for you through the sea, in order that you may seek of His Bounty. Truly! He is Ever Most Merciful towards you” – (Surah Al Isra, verse 66)

Say Bismillah & find yourself a peaceful and a quiet place where nobody & nothing will distract you. Have your Quran with you but don’t open it just yet. Repeat Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest) until your heart finds a little comfort. Take as long as you need & if shaytaan whispers to you to leave this, seek refuge in Allah. Don’t listen to him, ignore him and focus again. Give yourself 5 minutes to do this, focus on Allah alone. Ponder upon His Greatness. Allah created you with love, it is because of that He loves you.

Do you know how much your mother loves you? She will never do anything to hurt you, she will never give you anything which harms you or is bad for you. If she likes something for you, she will quickly get it for you knowing how happy that will make you. You became her priority from the day you entered her womb so what about Allah, the Most Merciful, the One who created you?

Allah is watching over you 24/7, Allah says no slumber or sleep overtakes Him in Aytal Kursi, do you know what this means? He does not sleep at all, He is always there looking after you, listening to you. Not a single moment goes by except that He is with you so do not lose hope in Allah and tire yourself with the worries of this world. Be with Allah and Allah will bring the whole world to you in your feet, only if you let Him.  According to Abu Hurayra, the Messenger of God, may God give him blessings and peace, said: God, ever mighty and majestic is He, says: “I am present in My servant’s thought of Me, and I am with him when he beseeches Me.”

From being a person who did not even know the salah, I am telling you my dear Allah is giving you the hardship to bring you close to Him because He can’t see you in Hellfire, He wants to be with you in Jannah and He knows your heart cannot bear to be away from Him either.

Now, Praise Allah and make dua ‘O Allah, this is Your Book I am seeking help from so teach me from it what I do not know, make the Quran the light of my heart, the repeller of stress and O Allah, bear witness I turned to You for help so grant me wisdom and strength to bear every hardship you give me’. Say Bismillah and open the Quran, look at the very first verse your eyes fall upon and ponder upon its meaning.

Read the speech of Allah, the most purest and truthful speech that exists in the Heavens and the earth. Ponder and reflect on it, this is Allah directly speaking to you. This is His love for you, the message for you to teach you how to live a life pleasing to Him. Imagine your mother was going somewhere and left a letter of instructions for you to follow when you need help because she knows you don’t know how to do things on your own. So she tells you how to use the laundry, how to clean the toilet, to make your bed, how to make a recipe. She warns you to be careful of things that are harmful for you, e.g. don’t leave the gas on or make sure you don’t leave the knives laying around in the kitchen or it could be harmful for you and your younger siblings. Little instrctions to help you get on with life while she is away.

Likewise, the Quran is a guidance from Allah, your Creator  to guide you to the hereafter, to protect you from all evil. While your mother can’t over you when she is away, what is the most important thing is that Allah is taking care of you at every moment, He does not leave you with the guidance. He helps you, aids you and supports you with everything you need. This is Allah’s love for you, He loves you more than you can ever imagine. He does not like it when you are away from Him, busy with this dunya which is only temporary, with things that are no benefit to you. Just like a mother who protects her child from every harm, Allah is protecting you from the Hellfire so say Alhamdulilah and attach your heart to Him.

Please read Surah Taha if you feel down. Read with its translation word to word and reflect on its meaning. You will find so much comfort in the Quran, your heart will soften with His beautiful words. Your heart will find ease only if you let it.

Make the intention to be with Him every moment through your Salah, Quran and His Dhikr. You must take the first step towards Him. He does not want to see the results, He wants your efforts. Allah wants you to take the first step & He will cover the distance between you and Him. Make the effort to read & ponder upon the Quran every day even if it is a single verse. I am going to leave you with some beautiful Hadith Qudsi so you may find some comfort in Allah, our Lord.

God, ever mighty and majestic is He, says: “O child of Adam, each one wants you for himself, and I want you for yourself, yet you flee from Me. O child of Adam, how you wrong Me!” [was found in Torah as the writer suggested]

God, ever mighty and majestic is He, says: “O child of Adam, it is your right from Me that I be a lover for you. So, by My right from you, be for Me a lover.” [same as above]

God, ever mighty and majestic is He, says, when He descends during the third part of the night: “I am the King! Who is there that calls out to Me, that I may answer him? Who is there that asks of Me, that I may give to him? Who is there that asks pardon of Me, that I may forgive him?” [Sahih Muslim]

God, ever mighty and majestic is He, says: “If My servant intends a good deed, then I count it for him as a good deed, even if he does not carry it out. And if he does carry it out, then I count it for him as ten like unto it. And if he plans to do an evil deed, then I forgive him for it, as long as he does not carry it out. And if he carries it out, I count it for him as it is.” [Sahih Muslim]

God, ever mighty and majestic is He, will say in addressing the people of Paradise:

“I am your Lord whom you worshipped although you did not see Me. You called to Me, you loved Me, you feared Me.

“By My Might and My Majesty! By My Height and My Gran- deur! By My Splendour and My Glory! Truly, I am well-pleased with you, I love you and I love what you love.

“You have in Me that which your souls desire and that which delights your eyes. You have in Me that which you ask for and that which you wish. All that you wish, I wish, so ask Me. Do not be shy or reticent.”
